The main complaint is that JPF funding is not available to rural municipalities and other agencies that benefitted from RED support.
Champlain Township is joining other Ontario municipalities in telling the province to keep the RED alive. The 2016 provincial budget includes a plan for a halt to applications to Ontario’s Rural Economic Development program (RED). Instead the RED will get rolled into the Jobs and Prosperity Fund (JPF).
