friend does not care for the other man. My friend is a new-born child of God and will appreciate the help you can give. A. Jealousy stems from immaturity and unrighteousness. There are two major cures: 1) Grow up—get older, 2) Develop spiritually. If this boy will commit this child ish, sinful attitude to God, He will take it out of his life. He should talk to the Lord several times a day about it, memorize Scripture and fellowship with believers. Thou sands have been delivered from jealousy. Smart Enough Q. Can a feeble minded person be come regenerate? A. Yes, Christ died for all. “ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13). If a person has sufficient intelli gence to understand that he is a sinner and that Jesus died for sin ners, he certainly can be saved. Although many of the world’s most brilliant men and women have trusted in Christ, regeneration comes through faith, not “ high in tellect.” “ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of your selves: it is the gift of God” (Eph. 2 : 8 ) . God wants our allegiance and our devotion. If a person accepts Christ and gives the best he has to God, that is all that He expects.

is surely not in line for His richest blessing! “ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). Mental Breakdowns & Christianity Q. I have a friend who says she doesn’t give her heart to the Lord because she has known of several Christians who have had mental breakdowns. She says that if God can’t prevent this in the life of a believer, what then does the Chris tian have that the non-Christian does not have. A. You have really several impor tant questions, and I wish that I might have space to answer them all fully. However, it seems to me that this woman’s problem really has almost nothing to do with whether Chris tians do or do not have mental ill ness. She is evidently laying down the terms to God, before she is will ing to trust Him. The real issue is the sin problem. Her acceptance of Christ as her p e r s on a l Saviour should be based on the fact that she is a sinner, lost and without God. After she is saved God will help her face all other problems, includ ing illness. Jealousy Q. My teen-age friend has a case of jealousy. He usually takes a certain girl to a party but when someone else takes her it spoils the evening. He was to pick up this girl and another one but because he could not pick up just his girl, he, in spite, waited half an hour. He is jealous although he knows she does not care for another fel low. He wants to know why he is jealous although he knows his girl

Smoking Q. What do you think about Chris tians smoking? A. To many people smoking is an obnoxious habit. Those who do not smoke usually dislike the smell of tobacco and are uncom fortab le when they are exposed to it. Too few smokers realize how their clothes and hair carry tobacco bdor. So, from the point of view of gain ing friends, I’d say that you would be personally more desirable if you did not engage in this odious prac tice. A number of research findings, as well as many medical men, point to the fact that smoking is conducive to various diseases, espe cially cancer and diseases of the heart. If you want to be a healthy, efficient Christian, you will do well to abstain from the use of tobacco. Of course smoking may be a seri ous handicap to a Christian’s testi mony. It’s strange, but many non- Christians seem to know how Chris tians should act, and when they see Christians smoking, they do not have much confidence in their “ transformed life.” But I feel that something which is worse than a Christian smoking is his refusal to give it up. God sel dom uses a man who refuses to let Him have His will in his life. Our Lord demands surrender. “Where fore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:17, 18). Any person who knows Christ as his personal Saviour but who re fuses to let God clean up his life is not an obedient Christian and
