ECAUCUS, NJ — Ar- rowpac, Inc. has ac- quired a 77,000 s/f in-
door service between the Con- tinental U.S, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean Islands. Badenhau- sen noted that the relocation of its shipping facility responded to strong company growth and also coincided with Arrowpac’s primary Northeast shipping line relocating from the Port of New York/New Jersey to the Port of Philadelphia. “Arrowpac, which is expand- ing rapidly, wanted to accom- modate its current employee base while getting closer to Philadelphia,” he said. “Stay- ing proximate to the New Jer-
sey Turnpike – a major artery for trucking – also was impor- tant. We identified the Exit 8 market as a perfect balance from a location standpoint.” Stypa added that the for- mer FedEx terminal at 85 Twin Rivers Drive accom- modates Arrowpac’s having loading requirements and also provides room for additional growth. “This property has a lot of doors and also can be expanded,” he said. “The fact that it sits right next to the Turnpike and was available for an excellent price presented a great solution.” n

Through volunteer labor and donations of money and mate- rials, Habitat builds simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner families. InAugust, the organization broke ground on its West Seventh Street Village in Plainfield. The five- home complex contains two duplexes and one single-family residence. Additionally, Rut- gers’ Habitat chapter last year pledged to raise $100,000 to fund the construction of the sin- gle-family home there, marking the largest donation ever made by a campus chapter. Over the past two weeks, 32 Cushman &Wakefield employ- ees have worked on the Rut- gers-funded house. “We had such a strong response to our call for volunteers that we split the group into two separate crews and added a second build day,” said Christa DiLalo Petti , a Cushman & Wake- field research analyst based in the firm’s East Rutherford, N.J., office, who organized the Habitat for Humanity effort. “Everyone involved is so im- pressed by how this organiza- tion is working to provide a hand-up for families within our community. Being part of that is a fantastic experience.” n
