SPECIFIC CITY OF IRVINE STYLE GUIDELINES

Abbreviation of Titles The City discourages the abbreviation of most titles with the exception of Dr. and Ph.D.

Staff Reports Staff reports should adhere to all City of Irvine Style Guidelines noted in this document. Please find a staff report checklist and template for your use. Website Website is one word and should be lowercase unless beginning a sentence or as a header. Web Addresses Do not use www. when writing web addresses. Web addresses should be italicized to help them better stand out. Note: When ordering new stationery and business cards, please omit the www. and italicize the web ad- dress but do not bold it.

Occupational Titles Do not capitalize occupational titles.

To make a web address a live link without using the www. , there are two options:
