Academic Services Academic Services operates a broad range of services, advice and guidance to support the effective operation and administration of the School. Staff in Academic Services sit within the following areas: ■ Academic Operations: Including accreditations, academic conduct, course and module approval, data architecture and structure, exams, quality assurance, and timetabling ■ Buildings, Facilities and Reception: Including delivery of front-line services, fire evacuation procedures, health and safety, liaison with University Estates colleagues regarding buildings and facilities maintenance and policies, and WBS-level project management of refurbishment and building projects ■ Subject Group Administration: Key support for our academic subject groups, including teaching plans, expenses, and staff-related processes such as recruitment and event management ■ Data Architecture and Data Operations: These two areas focus on the integration

Our Professional Services teams provide the infrastructure that helps WBS to run effectively, and to achieve its strategic goals. Most teams fall into one of three core clusters; Academic Environment, Stakeholder Engagement, and Taught Programmes. HR, Finance, and eSolutions (our IT team) sit outside of the clusters, as core services underpinning all of the School’s activities. The Academic Environment cluster focuses on providing high-quality services that underpin, support and enhance the academic delivery and mission of WBS. The teams within the Academic Environment are:

The Research Office supports faculty with their research activities, including dissemination of research grant funding opportunities, research grant submissions, obtaining research ethics and advising

on research ethics and integrity, and implementation of University research policies.

They also support research impact activities, collect data and information on the research environment, and support the Pro-Dean for Research, Engagement and Impact on delivering and implementing the School’s research strategy. The Doctoral Programmes Office (DPO) provides dedicated programme support for our two Postgraduate Research Programmes; the MRes/PhD in Business & Management, and the MRes/PhD in Finance & Economics. The DPO acts as the first point of contact for PhD students, providing programme advice and pastoral support as needed. They also provide end-to-end administrative support to both academic staff and PhD supervisors.

Consultants work closely with faculty throughout the full module development and delivery cycle - from initial planning and material development to classroom or online delivery. Faculty development is central to the team’s mission. They offer comprehensive faculty development opportunities, including workshops, coaching, and engagement activities such as the WBS Teaching and Learning Symposium. The team also supports colleagues in achieving recognition for teaching excellence, including Higher Education Academy Fellowships and Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence.
