We’ve invested significantly to enhance our research environment in recent years. At WBS you’ll benefit from access to a range of support packages, such as: ■ Wide access to a diverse range of existing secondary data sources, as well as the ability to apply for funding to acquire new data sets ■ Additional financial support to support the costs of primary data collection ■ Access to high performance computing (HPC), cloud computing (Amazon Web Services), and secure data storage ■ Access to technical support from our in-house Senior Research Software Engineers to assist you with your research ■ Additional financial support for research impact projects and access to our Impact and Engagement Community of Practice ■ Additional support from our in-house Research Office, who are able to assist at all stages of research project lifecycles, from grant development to generating research impact. In addition, a competitive personal Research Allowance is allocated to all members of faculty each year to support their research activity, with incentives provided for publishing in high-quality journals, attaining grant income, and taking editorial positions at leading journals.

Research at WBS Our colleagues benefit from a collaborative and supportive environment. We work hard to develop early career researchers and provide support that enables middle career and more established scholars to construct and sustain successful long-lasting careers. In addition to a supportive and collegiate culture within the School and wider University, each academic group has Research Environment Leads who foster group research cultures. The research environment is further enhanced by the recruitment of a number of part-time Distinguished Research Environment Professors who interact and collaborate with our faculty, sharing their expertise and networks.
