A cross between a wakeboard and a kite surf, the Flyboard is the creation of famed jet-ski champion Frank Zapata who wanted to defy gravity and provide weightlessness to an already emotional ride. Perfected in 2011, the Flyboard is now distributed in 25 countries around the globe. “Imagine a wakeboard equipped with two nozzles connected to the turbine of a jet-ski by a 60-foot long pipe that directs the water straight to the board”, states the company in a promotional item. “The height you will
reach will depend on the force of the jet-ski. The force of a 130-horsepower will permit you to attain 10 to 15 feet in height, whereas the force of a 250-hor- sepower will permit you to attain 45 feet in height. Fly like Ironman, and swim like a dolphin. Intuitive and ad- dictive, flyboarding is the newest and hottest craze offering a sensation like no other!” Since all the thrust developed from the jet-ski is routed through the hose, the flyboarder can reach unimaginable heights while maintaining control above and under water. This advan- tage gives carte blanche to creativity in terms of acrobatics and diving. “Man, that’s just insane and plain out of a science-fiction movie”, said bystander Mi- chaël Lacharité. I have done some crazy stuff with my snowboard but flying above water and diving and jumping right back out is another ballgame. It’s like saying “screw gra- vity”, I’ll do what I want.” From a novelty item to Youtube sensation

and now a respected marine discipline, the Flyboard now has organized championships and its number of proponents is quickly growing. “Looks like a lot of fun”, said 77-year-old camper Jeannine Rochon. I’m really im- pressed by its stability. The guy on top can stand still in the sky and then do some tricks. That’s something else for sure.”

La GNW a récemment confirmé que les deux champions s’affronteront dans un match deux de trois, où le premier lutteur à remporter deux chutes sera le vainqueur. Ce type de match a soulevé la foule pendant des décennies lors des galas de lutte du promoteur Eddy Quinn au Fo- rum de Montréal. Stunning Steven en préparation Il y a aura également de l’action dans l’arène lors d’une bataille royale à 20 lutteurs, où cha- cun tentera d’éliminer ses adversaires en les projetant par-dessus la troisième corde. Parmi les aspirants, Steven Levac, l’homme fort de l’im- mobilier de Hawkesbury, qui se transformera, le tant d’une soirée, en Stunning Steven, clin d’œil au temps des Hollywood blondes du légendaire Steve Austin. En ce moment à l’entraînement jour et nuit, Steven dévoilera un pan de sa stratégie pour le grand match dans un numéro à venir de notre journal. «Donnez-moi quelques semaines d’en- traînement et on s’en reparle!», a-t-il indiqué récemment. Le géant Darkko, SeXXXy Eddie, qui a fait la pluie et le beau temps durant les années d’or de l’Internet Wrestling Syndicate de Mon- tréal, et 17 autres brutes monteront dans l’arène pour la bataille royale.
