Construction is underway on the Mixed Grille and we want to remind members that all other areas of the Club are still open for business. In the Oak Room, Chef Jorge and his team have created a hybrid menu of favored items from the Grille and Oak Room menus and are working it from the main kitchen, while Peter and his team will continuing to give 100% in order to provide great service to you and your guests. These changes in dining and the adaptation to new paths to the Golf Shop and Locker Rooms are challenging to us all and we ask for a short period of grace while we adapt and make corrections where needed. Please help us with constructive comments and recommendations by completing our Ala Carte Dining Questionaire or sending us a message through the "Compliments & Comments" section of our mobile app. Again thank you for you continued support and we look forward to seeing at the Club soon! The Seven Oaks Book

The Seven Oaks Book Club meets each month to discuss books on a reading list which is created by mutual consent of the Book Club members. All members of SOCC are invited to attend. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 29th at 11:30am

Please email Cynthia Bailey at cbailey664@gmail.com to receive information on joining the meeting.

Our selection for May...

Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path. As green and inexperienced as the men sent to Vietnam to fight, Frankie is over-whelmed by the chaos and destruction of war. Each day is a gamble of life and death, hope and betrayal; friendships run deep and can be shattered in an instant. In war, she meets and becomes one of the lucky, the brave, the broken, and the lost. But war is just the beginning for Frankie and her veteran friends. The real battle lies in coming home to a changed and divided America, to angry protesters, and to a country that wants to forget Vietnam.

The Women is the story of one woman gone to war, but it shines a light on all women who put themselves in harm’s way and whose sacrifice and commitment to their country has too often been forgotten. A novel about deep friendships and bold patriotism, The Women is a richly drawn story with a memorable heroine whose idealism and courage under fire will come to define an era. 3 The Seven Oaks Scene |

I want to thank all the members who participated in our second “DIVOT SOCIAL” event. We had 46 members volunteer their

Thank you again to all who donated an hour of their time to continue to make Seven Oaks the best we can be. I have received neutral feedback on the new Bunker Rakes that are placed in all the Par 3 bunkers. Thank you. Some love them, some not so much and others are not sure yet. It is very important to remember “DO NOT TO TRY AND PUSH SAND WITH THIS NEW STYLE RAKE” !! This rake is designed to only work when you pull the rake towards you as you exit the bunker. It works extremely well when you do the proper bunker maintenance after hitting your shot. This is what you should do after any and every bunker shot, regardless of any style bunker rake. After your shot has been made, you should always use your foot to smooth-out where your final address of the ball was, then take the rake and pull it towards you as you back out of the bunker. Once you are out of the bunker, place the rake perpendicular to the bunker edge near the "Pink Whiskers" that are placed around the lowest "entry/exit points" of each bunker. Lastly, don’t forget to take your golf club and knock off any excess sand from the bottom of your shoes. Thank you for all you do to help make our club the best.

time for one hour to fill Divots. It was a beautiful evening and we were able to fill every divot on all 27 holes in one hour. Afterwards we all convened on the Half-Moon lawn for a free drink and many Hors d’oeuvres. This year we will put together a second Divot Social for 2024 in the late summer/early fall time frame. Once we set that date, please mark your calendars to come out and join us.
