To make sure this happens, call your bank and ask about setting up automatic savings to have your contributions automatically deducted from your paycheck. 2. Meet Your Company Match If your company offers to match your contributions up to a certain percentage, take advantage of that. It’s basically free money! Only around 28% of Americans take full advantage of their company’s savings options.
