Encouraging employees to meet and talk to other people is one of office planners’ biggest challenges. The innovative, sound-absorbent, wall tiles manage to create a welcoming atmosphere for sponta- neous “stopovers”, even in places where space is lacking such as aisles, cross-over spaces and stairwells. A flat, fabric-covered, upholstered module, 60 x 60 cm in size, and a three-dimensional projecting element in the same size can be positioned and combined with one another as desired. Depending on how it’s positioned, the projecting element can be used for perching or leaning on, as shelving or a screen for more privacy. Landing comes in lots of different fabrics and colors. The panels are made of opaque fabrics and have an in-built stabiliza- tion profile. When tables are stacked, the panels are rolled up and affixed with hook and loop fasteners and simply pulled down like a blind when more privacy is required.
On the sides where the tables are linked, the system tables’ frames are positioned flush with the edges and the folding mechanism has pull-out metal eyelets. This is where the connecting leaves are hooked in and locked into place. As a result, any load placed on the table tops is absorbed directly by the sturdy frame. There are connecting leaves with 90° connectors and they come as circular segments, squares or rectangles.

These tables are a design statement for contemporary conference spaces and executive board rooms and have large table tops, few legs and a consistent design language. Just like the Graph chairs, the exclusive table range is defined by the consummate fusion of edges and fluid lines, surfaces and curved sections. The sleek lines of the sloping table legs continue seamlessly in the aluminum underframes and even make multi-component frames look like a single unit. The table tops appear to float on air because they taper toward the edges and protrude over the legs. The formats comprise round tables with just four legs for up to 12 people, rounded square tables and long or compact oval configurations for up to 22 people. Alongside the variety of formats, the MDF table tops and table frames can be adapted to various interiors.

The lightweight and classy table range for those occasions when informal meet-ups are needed encourages people to interact and is perfectly coordinated with the conference chairs. In the case of interior designers and architects, the Occo tables are ideal for design concepts where a clear design language is required despite all the diversity offered. Because in terms of form and function, the table range matches the Occo chair models perfectly and is a good choice for company restaurants to customer service and meeting spaces all the way to club rooms. Sophisticated elegance with that little bit extra for home offices, lobbies, recreational areas, cafés or showrooms all the way to dining tables at home. The delicate charm of the comprehensive Aline table family is ideal for furnishing those in-between spaces that require a certain informality but gravitas at the same time. The chamfered and practi- cal table tops on the round and square column versions that come as side tables or tables for sitting or standing at and the double-column rectangular tables are made of through-dyed HPL (High Pressure Laminate), which is just 12 mm thick. A particularly ingenious feature is that the slots in the table top allow up to three high tables to nest into one another.

The delicate aluminum frame is lightweight and creates elegant contours that appear to be encased by the upholstery. The upholstery seamlessly envelops the cube-like shape on the outside. History
1907 年、優れた家具職人であったフリードリヒ・ハーネとクリスチャン・ ウィルケニングは、北ドイツ・ハノーファー近郊の小さな街、アイン ベックハウゼンに、椅子工房 Wilkening & Hahne を設立しました。 周辺の豊富なブナの原生林を使用したロマネスク様式の椅子を製作 し、その優れた加工技術は WiHa 様式という名で呼ばれるまでに なりました。 1940 年ごろには 40 名ほどの従業員を抱えるまで発展 しましたが、戦禍により、工場は一時閉鎖に追い込まれました。
戦後、創業者の息子であるフリッツ・ハーネとアドルフ・ウィルケニング が、会社を再出発させます。 1952 年にモダンデザインの源泉となった DeWe （ドイツ工作協会）に加工技術が認められ、その家具コレクション の製造工場に選ばれます。これを機に、モダンなチェアとテーブルの 生産が始まり、世界規模の企業へと成長する第一歩となりました。この パートナーシップは成功し、自社ブランド立ち上げの原動力となる 優れたデザイナーたちとの関係が深まりました。これらのデザイナー の中には、バウハウスの理論を継承するウルム造形大学の関係者が 多くいました。 1954 年、 Wilkening & Hahne を縮めた「 Wilkhahn 」というブランド ネームが誕生しました。 1955 年には、ウルム造形大学の教授と なるゲオルグ・レオヴァルトがデザインした「 Chair 351 」がベスト セラーとなります。さらに、新しい素材 FRP を用いた「 Chair 224 」 や、ウルム造形大学の卒業制作としてヴィルヘルム・リッツがデザイン した「 Chair 402 」が、新技術と新市場の創造をもたらしました。この 時期、材質が持つ特性を十分に活かし、無駄を一切排除した究極の フォルムを特徴とする、現在まで続くスタイルが確立しました。 1960 年代、オフィスワーカーの増加に比例し、長時間のデスクワーク が及ぼす健康への影響が注目を集め、オフィスチェア開発に人間工学 が取り入れられるようになりました。そうした中、ウィルクハーンは 機能性と斬新なデザインを融合させた「 2000 range 」「、 Chair 232 」 等を開発し、大ヒットを生み、さらに「 Bench system 120 」でウェイ ティングエリアにも参入します。 1980 年、クラウス・フランクと ヴェルナー・ザウアーにより開発された世界初のオートシンクロ メカニズムを搭載した「 FS-Line 」は、現代のエルゴノミクスチェア の原点となり、記録的な売上げを達成しました。

1980 年代後半、時代に先駆け環境問題への取り組みがはじまり ます。独自のエコ・コントロール・システムの確立を進め、 1990 年、 「目先の利益より環境を優先する」という環境宣言を発表。太陽光 発電や屋上緑化などをいち早く体現したエコロジカルな工場棟の 建設や、世界で初めて使用材料の 95 ％がリサイクル可能で、メンテ ナンスや素材分別がしやすい接着剤不使用のチェア「 Picto 」を開 発します。 1996 年、環境への先進的な取り組みが評価され、ドイツ 連邦環境財団から「、ドイツ環境賞」を授与されました。 新世紀を迎えた 2000 年代、ウィルクハーンは未来のワークス タイルへの提言を、より明確に発信しました。創業 100 周年に あたる 2007 年には、可動式の家具を使った動的なコミュニケー ション環境を提案する書籍「 Conference,excellence 」を刊行。 時期を同じくして、 Aline,Sito,Cura など「、 Conference, excel- lence 」を実現するための、コミュニケーションの媒介役となる製 品を発表しました。 2009 年、三次元シンクロメカニズム「トリメンション ® 」を搭載し たワーキングチェア「 ON 」を発表。従来の人間工学に運動学のエッ センスを取り入れ開発されたこのメカニズムは、身体の動きに追随 するような、立体的で、ダイナミックな座り心地を現実のものとしま した。トリメンション ® は 60 年代から着座時の身体の動きにこだ わり続けたウィルクハーンがたどり着いた、ひとつの集大成であり、 「 ON 」に続く「 IN 」「 AT 」にもそのメカニズムの原理は継承されまし た。そしてダイバーシティへの取り組みが進む現在、ウィルクハーン が予見した通り、オフィスでのコミュニケーションの重要性がますま す高まっています。ウィルクハーンは「 Sitzbock 」「 Landing 」など、 コミュニケーション / コラボレーションを生み出し、促進するツール として機能する新作群による、最新のソリューションを提案してい ます。
