Cornejo & Sons, a vertically integrated construction materials company, has completed the acquisition of Midwest Minerals, a leading aggregates supplier with operations in Southeast Kansas, Northeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Missouri. “This is an outstanding operation joining us with quality personnel and an excellent reputation,” said Georges Ausseil, President of Cornejo & Sons. “Midwest Minerals is a perfect complement to the Cornejo & Sons organization, which will increase our strength, stability, and the opportunity for future growth.” With deep customer and community relationships, Midwest Minerals will continue to operate from its headquarters in Pittsburg, KS, where Steve Sloan, CEO of Midwest Minerals, and his leadership team will remain with the business and continue its growth and development under Cornejo’s ownership. “It is an exciting time, as I feel being part of a larger, well- respected, well-capitalized organization will allow us to grow and prosper in the future,” said Steve Sloan, CEO of Midwest Minerals. “With the acquisition of Midwest Minerals, we are expanding our footprint and opening up new avenues for our vertically integrated

business,” said Pat Short, Vice President of Cornejo & Sons. “The Midwest Minerals team is highly experienced and allows us to better serve our customers.”
