just under four years,” he ex- plained. “But be- ing new to the area has given me a different vi- sion, a different angle to look at for improving this city.” Havingworked in Ottawa, Toron- to and Montreal

for most of his life, Stephenson explained that the friendly seaway city has really what it takes to grow. “Cornwall is a small city and a big town,” he outlined. “This town and this area have a lot of potential and I believe we haven’t tapped into all of it yet. He also thinks that there needs to be a revitalization of not only the waterfront, but also the land next to the 401. “You drive next to Brockville and you know that there’s a big city there, because there are so many businesses,” he explained. “You drive past Cornwall and you don’t see any- thing.”

A play, written by Norm Foster, produced by Jennifer Bellemore and directed by Mike Petrinka, is entertaining audiences in Cornwall. Self-Help is the story of Hal and Cin- dy Savage, two struggling actors who reinvent themselves as self-help gurus and, much to their surprise, become the world’s most revered relationship experts. Un- fortunately, while their careers skyrocket, their marriage goes into a nosedive, and they soon find themselves scrambling to protect their reputations. The show features several talented actors, such as Lacie Petrynka, the now well-known Grant Reso, Ali- son Latimer, Chantal Desnoyers, Neil Carriere and Paul Aubin. Representations are scheduled for October 12, 18, 23, 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and at 1:30 p.m. on October 19. Self-Help is showcased at the Dream Builders Studios.
