GROUNDWORKS AND CIVIL ENGINEERING
S pecialist construction company, SMC Contracts, carried out all groundworks and civil engineering works at South Lake Leisure Centre site in Craigavon. As Brendan McCullough, Managing Director for SMC Contracts explains, this was a particularly challenging site, “South Lake situated beside a lake with difficult ground conditions presented environmental, health, safety and welfare issues for us as the main groundworker. We overcame these challenges by
working closely with Farrans and implementing procedures to mitigate and minimise potential risks from these hazards. “Our extensive range of specialised plant and dedicated workforce ensured that from initial site clearance to finishing touches we always had the right personnel or machine for the job”
Commenting on the job done, Brendan says, “This was an exceptional project to work on and the finished product showcased our ability to deliver high quality work, on time within challenging environments. “Working with the Farrans team on this project has been a pleasure and we look forward to continuing working with them on future projects.”
