D espite the unprecedented nature of 2020 the construction industry is prevailing, and Simpson Strong- Tie have been working hard to bring you exciting new innovations across its product ranges and first rate technical and customer support. In January, Simpson Strong-Tie’s Connectors for Timber and Masonry Construction catalogue introduced new products including the Gable Panel Connector, high movement timber frame tie, decorative and heavy-duty post bases and adjustable mini hanger. Simpson Strong-Tie mascot, Rusty, advised customers that NHBC and LABC building requirements only advocate the use of austenitic stainless steel or PVCu beads in UK external rendering applications, not galvanised. In March the company introduced its Premium Fasteners range; featuring Europe’s leading range of superior nails
and screws, with stainless steel, structural and collated options. “The fasteners you choose are as important as materials and finishing touches,” explains Simpson Strong- Tie Ireland Country Manager, David Mooney. “Cheap nails and screws can cause decking to loosen and even fasteners to deteriorate.” The catalogue features the Quik Drive auto-feed screw system, now available with a lifetime warranty, launched with a viral video game style feature on social media.
