Case Study – 3 St Cross Hospital
PROJECT As an historic NHS site, the hospital has developed over time and expanded to offer various services. As a result, the signage was outdated and no longer fit for purpose. Graphic Signs was commissioned to design, implement and install a wayfinding system that would tie everything together to cover both internal and external areas, to make the site feel unified and complete. CHALLENGE The project required a comprehensive wayfinding signage solution. Design, supply and installation. As part of the project, we worked closely with the Trust and multiple stakeholder groups. Inclusivity was key to this project’s success. SOLUTiON We developed a signage system to suit the various needs of the spaces. First, we divided the hospital site into four colour coded zones. The use of colour visually communicates the navigation of the site for parking and all directional signage. Next, the type of signage was decided for each space, using the overarching colour system to address the challenges of the large site. A modular signage system was implemented to future proof the signs so that changes could be made easily if needed. This saves on future costs as well as time.
