Ballard ESG Report 2019

OUR CORPORATE COMMITMENTS

Overall, our carbon footprint increased by 19% from 2017 to 2018—but this should be seen in light of changes in our business mix and growth in our operation. While overall numbers increased, our per-employee emissions fell by 16%. Moving forward, we intend to report our environmental impacts to the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), an international non-profit organization that has compiled the world’s largest, most comprehensive database of corporate climate impacts, risks and opportunities. The CDP shares its information to encourage corporate transparency and create momentum in tackling the climate crisis, and issues of deforestation and water security.

In future ESG reports, we hope to provide year-on-year metrics that include each previous year.
