WE’RE GRATEFUL TO SERVE Sharing Our Appreciation for Dentistry From The Heart
Hi there — how were your holidays? We had a very nice Thanksgiving at my parents’ home in Utah. The whole family was there, including my brother and his family, and we had a wonderful dinner. It was practically impossible not to eat too much of that delicious food! We ran a turkey trot that morning in hopes of burning a few calories before indulging, but I doubt it was enough to cover everything we ate. My daughter, Josie, and her husband came to the trot, along with my granddaughter in her stroller. She’s doing so great, and the highlight of my trip was spending time with this little one. She’s starting to roll over and get more dexterity in her hands, to the point where she can hold things. It’s fun to watch her try new movements — the little steps and attempts to test what her tiny body can do. Mom and Dad are wonderful parents. They’re doing super well and are loving their new roles. In early November, we hosted our annual free day of dental care, Dentistry From The Heart. They say it takes a village, and that truly applies to this volunteer event. Serving our community with free dental care would not be possible without help. We had a lot of assistance from other dental staff in the area, and I want to give a huge thanks to them for donating their time. As always, I’m very grateful for our team at Ustick Dental for getting behind this event and for their consistent willingness to lend a hand. They made this possible. Thanks also to all of you who helped spread the word about Dentistry From The Heart. Each of you contributed to the success of the day. On the day of the Dentistry From The Heart event, we saw people from all over the Treasure Valley, and even beyond. Folks see the information we put out and come from far and wide to get dental care. That makes it clear to us that there is a great need for services like these. No matter how much we accomplish, or how many people we see, there’s always more to be done. It’s a good reminder about all that we have to be grateful for and of how much we can share. There’s always a need for dental care, and it’s
why we continue to host Dentistry From The Heart each year. I’m glad we can use our resources and knowledge to provide people with access to dental care. You know, out of everything I get to do in my career, Dentistry From The Heart has to be one of the most rewarding parts of my year. It feels good to reach out to our community and alleviate the burdens of people who don’t have access to dental coverage. Many people who visit us at this event are in pain, and it feels very rewarding to relieve their suffering through dental care. It’s a busy day, but we enjoy it. Everyone goes home tired and satisfied, knowing they did their part. After a full November, December was a much quieter month. Our team got together to celebrate a successful year and reminisce on some of our achievements. For Christmas, my wife and I spent a relaxed day at home appreciating everything we have to be grateful for. I hope you were able to enjoy time with your loved ones and have a wonderful celebration as well.
Happy holidays and enjoy the new year,
