Conceived for the city of Valdivia, the museum recovers and enhances the abandoned and dilapidated Piloto Pardo ship. The exhibition design strategy was to separate its four main parts: bow, hold, fire room and machine room. The project reveals the existence of weight, proposing to suspend the ship (architectural weight) on a fragile structure (floating dock). It also seeks to show the ship construction process, in order to strengthen the link of the city with its shipping identity.
