A 5 km al norte de Puerto Natales está el Hotel The Singular Patagonia, construido en las instalaciones de lo que hace algunas décadas fue el Frigorífico de la Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego, el cual dejó de funcionar a comienzos de los años 70. Five kilometers north of Puerto Natales stands The Singular Patagonia hotel, built on the grounds of what a few decades ago was the refrigerated warehouse of the Company for the Exploration of Tierra del Fuego, which stopped operating in the early 70s.

En 1996, el Frigorífico de Puerto Bories (1902-15) es declarado Monumento Nacional. Tras cambiar de propietarios, finalmente el 2008 el predio es adquirido por una sociedad hotelera que emprende un notable trabajo de recuperación que incluye faenas de restauración, rehabilitación y construcción para un hotel de lujo de 54 habitaciones, tres suites, un spa y dos restaurantes. En los trabajos de restauración lo primero
fue descubrir el lugar dentro del lugar, donde se levantaría la obra nueva, la cual se posaría sobre la preexistente constituyendo entre ambas un nuevo espacio y lugar. En la exploración emerge la instalación original, en una suerte de arqueología del espacio y la materia. Para contener la atmósfera patrimonial se incorporan dos nuevos pabellones y el terreno que los contiene, liberando la explanada costera. In 1996, Frigorífico Puerto Bories (1902-1915) was declared a National Monument. After changing owners, in 2008 the property is finally acquired by a hotel company that undertakes a remarkable work of recovery including restoration, rehabilitation and construction of a luxury hotel with 54 rooms, three suites, a spa and two restaurants. In the restoration works the first task was to find the place within the place where the new building would rise on top of the existing one forming between them a new space and a place. The exploration reveals the original installation, a sort of archeology of space and matter. To preserve the heritage atmosphere two new pavilions and their plot are built to clear the coastal esplanade.
