Por ello, se liberó el suelo y la cubierta para ofrecer ambas al barrio. El programa se desarrolla en un cuerpo de dos plantas suspendido sobre el plano del suelo. En los extremos del volumen se disponen los espacios comunes: un patio cubierto y una terraza abierta sobre la casona y el cerro. El edificio reconoce sistemas presentes, y por un lado mantiene el trazado masivo de pircas, muros gruesos y pesantes que contienen la pendiente y, por otro, trabaja con arquitectura aérea, articulada, de pilares y vigas de madera. We sought to respond to the needs of the campus with a residential scaled building that would add to the sequence of houses that make up the southern border of the School of Architecture. Consequently, the ground and roof levels were cleared and offered to the neighborhood. The functional program is placed in a body of two floors suspended above ground level. A covered patio and a terrace that open to the manor house and the hill are the common spaces arranged on the ends of the volume. The building recognizes the existing systems. On one hand it keeps the massive layout of heavy, thick stone walls retaining the slope and on the other, works with the articulated, aerial architecture of wooden columns and beams.
