Se aborda como problemática reconocer los opuestos del encargo: mientras la escala del hombre, íntima y personal, es necesaria para asimilar el contenido de un museo de la memoria, la explanada que lo recibe es de gran escala y soporta todo tipo de actividades masivas y festivas. Abordando la escala de lugar se genera un hito simple, un cubo vacío que enmarca desde la lejanía el monumento existente, configurando una situación de soledad y reflexión sobre la significancia de la memoria. Rasgando el suelo a través de un foro se da un sentido de término al principal eje urbano, acercando la experiencia del espacio a la escala del hombre, desapareciendo el horizonte y dando pie a una relación vertical entre la luz y el interior, haciendo de la pesadez de la tierra la carne misma del proyecto.
The problem to address is recognizing the opposites of the commission: while human scale, intimate and personal, is necessary to assimilate the contents of a museum of remembrance, the esplanade that welcomes the user is of great scale and supports all kinds of massive and festive activities. Approaching the scale of the place a simple landmark is created, an empty cube that frames from the distance the existing monument, configuring a situation of solitude and reflection on the significance of memory. A forum that tears into the ground gives a sense of conclusion to the main urban axis, bringing the experience of space closer to the human scale, making the horizon disappear and giving rise to a vertical relationship between light and interior, and making the heaviness of the earth the very flesh of the project.
