Manufacturing Intern: (Stanley Spring and Stamping Corp) Location: Chicago, IL, 60630 Pay: $20.00 per hour Hours per Week & Shifts: Summer 2026 program (full-time, June through August). Flexible part-time hours available during the school year for the right candidate. Description: Train on fourslide machines to form precision wire and strip components. Set up and operate spring coilers to produce compression, extension, and torsion springs. Run punch presses safely and accurately under the guidance of senior operators. Read engineering drawings, use calipers and micrometers, and learn first-piece inspection. Assist with tooling changeovers, basic machine maintenance, and shop organization. Participate in production meetings and learn how a manufacturing business runs. Requirements: Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college program (engineering, manufacturing tech, industrial trades, or related fields strongly preferred — but mechanical aptitude matters more than your major). Genuine mechanical aptitude — you like figuring out how things work and you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty. Strong work ethic and reliable attendance. Eager to learn from people who have been doing this for decades. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection provided as needed). A positive attitude and the kind of personality that fits into a family-style team. Fields of Study: Manufacturing Posted: 5/19/2026 Summer or Fall Automation Maintenance Technician Intern: (Symbotic) Location: Melrose Park, IL Pay: $20.00 per hour Hours per week & Shifts : 20 hours per week ideal, but can be less or more if student wants. Days, start and end times flexible. Warehouse open 24/7. 16 weeks ideal. Description: Repair and calibrate automated and robotic systems at warehouse (i.e., Automated Adapters, Vertical Lifts, and Symbotic’s fleet of automated robotic vehicles). Become system expert of Symbotic’s automation, including all mechanical, PLC, electrical or electronic subsystems. Requirements: Students must have personal experience working with hand tools and display interest in mechanical and electrical work, such as an ability to take machines apart, problem-solve and test, and repair things like their car, home appliances, and/or robots. Must demonstrate strong communication skills, be able to change course based on immediate business needs, show a sense of responsibility, and demonstrate problem-solving abilities. Preference will be given to students who would be interested and available for full-time hire afterwards if good fit.
