"$56"-*5 4r/&84 FLOOD WARNING REMAINS ALONG LOWER OTTAWA RIVER

EAP NEWSROOM nouvelles@eap.on.ca

Water levels along the Lower Ottawa River from Arnprior to Hawkesbury remain high, though officials say flows are expected to stabilize in the coming days. The Ottawa River Regulation Secretariat continues to warn of flood risks in low-lying areas due to ongoing snowmelt in the river’s northern basin combined with recent rainfall. Current forecasts suggest the river will peak between 80 and 150 centimetres below the 2019 historic flood levels and remain below last year’s peaks. Minor flood levels have already been exceeded in some areas from Pembroke to Britannia, with a chance of major flooding depending on how quickly the remaining snow melts and how much rain falls.
