Letters to Mothers

I carry the weight of her sacrifice and the light of her dreams. She is my inspiration. I remembered the countless nights she toiled, the laughter she shared even in the face of hardship, and her unwavering belief in my potential. Every milestone I reached, I silently dedicated to her, the woman who had sacrificed so much and taught me the true meaning of tenacity and love. As I navigated a world that often felt overwhelming, I carried her lessons close to my heart. My success wasn’t just mine; it was woven into the very fabric of our shared journey. I vowed to honor her legacy by extending the opportunities I’d been given to others who, like us, faced the odds. In the end, my mother didn’t just give me life; she taught me how to live it fully. As I set my sights on the horizon, I knew that no matter where I went or how high I climbed, I would always be anchored by her love and her unwavering faith in me. I felt her presence beside me, a guiding light, whispering the words that had driven me forward: “Keep dreaming, keep striving, and never forget where you came from.” So, with each step I took, I carried her legacy forward, determined to make a mark on the world that reflected my mother’s monumental love and unyielding spirit.

Hello, When I lost my dad at the age of 30, my mom and I shared the same pain. In those moments of collapse, we supported each other, finding the strength to move forward together. I tried to be the loving, strong, and caring daughter to support her de- spite my grief. Then again, I had to face one of the most challenging battles of my life: learning that I had breast cancer while carrying life within me for the first time was an indescribable shock. But at every moment, my mom was by my side, helping me in my daily life. When fatigue overwhelmed me, she watched over me, despite her pain and sorrow at seeing her daughter in such a state. Without her, the fight would have been much more difficult. Today, our greatest joy is my daughter, her granddaughter, who means everything to us. She brought sweetness to this ordeal that we went through together, allowing us to hold on. In the end, we became even stronger because we were three. I can never thank my mom enough for all she has done and continues to do for me. I will always be there for her as she has been for me. Love is the greatest weapon, and thanks to it, we are the strongest. Nadine Ragoin
