Letters to Mothers

Aleidy Josefina Bravo Vargas TP in Colombia

Being a mother has completely transformed my life. Since my son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, everything changed. That di- agnosis revolutionized how I see the world, my purpose, and the uncon- ditional love I feel for him. I know that education is crucial for everyone, but with my son, it has been a path full of challenges. The educational aspect has been especially dif- ficult because finding a center that truly meets his needs has been an ongoing struggle. This has pushed me to be more creative, and find new ways to showcase my son’s unique talents and abilities. Beyond any label or limitation, he has so much to offer, and my mission is to make sure his light shines. Every day, I work toward a better future for him, one filled with empathy, understanding, and acceptance. My greatest wish is for him to grow up in a world where he is valued just as he is, and has the opportunity to be whoever he wants to be. I know he can achieve everything he sets his mind to because his potential is limitless, and I will be by his side, sup- porting him with all my love.
