STAY SAFE THIS SUMMER
As the warm and sunny weather finally rolls into New York, some people embrace the carefree spirit of summertime and forget to prioritize safety. From road trips to backyard barbecues, here's how to stay safe during summer and avoid personal injuries. ROAD SAFETY Thinking of taking a road trip out to your favorite destination on a warm summer weekend? Well, you’re not alone in that thought. During the summer, there is an uptick in the number of cars on the roads. While you should always practice defensive driving while behind the wheel, this driving practice is especially important during the summer. From distracted drivers to those who are reckless, impatient, or careless when driving, more drivers on the road can mean a higher chance of an accident. Don’t forget to remain diligent while traveling during the summer to avoid a potentially serious car crash. BIKE SAFETY Likewise, cyclists and pedestrians should also be aware of the increased traffic. If you’re out for a leisurely bike ride, remember to always wear protective gear, like your helmet, to make sure you’re protected in the event of an accident. If you’re out walking, running, or cycling after dark, remember to wear bright colors and reflective gear to ensure that you are seen by oncoming traffic. POOL SAFETY The roads aren’t the only place you’ll need to practice safe habits this summer. If you own a pool, your risk of injury and potential liability can be high if it is not maintained properly. Ensuring your pool is securely gated will prevent younger
pool goers from entering the area unattended, which can have devastating effects. When you do decide to enjoy the pool area, make sure your cement patio or pool deck is well maintained to avoid a potential slip-and-fall accident. With a season full of outdoor fun ahead of us, don’t forget to take your safety seriously. But if you find yourself in an unfortunate scenario where you or someone you know has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, we are here to help. Call Cellino Law at 888-888-8888 .
