Launches Tiktok TOP 50 CHART highlighting most popular music on platform

Billboard, the renowned music industry charting body, is teaming up with TikTok to track the most trending music on the platform. The newly introduced TikTok Billboard Top 50 Chart, based in the US, assesses "creations, video views, and user engagement" by US users, compiling the 50 most popular songs on TikTok every week. The inaugural chart features Sexyy Red's 'SkeeYee' at the top, followed by Doja Cat's 'Paint the Town Red' and Taylor Swift's 'august'. Notably, Sexyy Red and Taylor Swift dominate the chart, making multiple appearances. The collaboration showcases TikTok's influence on the music industry, underlined by its previous launch of Sound On, a music distribution platform that generously compensates artists with 100% of their royalties in the first year and 90% in subsequent years. Accessible within the TikTok app and via Billboard, the TikTok Billboard Top 50 Chart brings a new dimension to tracking musical trends.
