Meridian Insecticide Southern Chinch Bug Guarantee Residential or commercial landscapes in FL, GA, and SC only Meridian ® insecticide provides foliar and systemic control of the southern chinch bug. Apply preventively before feeding damage occurs. Meridian is guaranteed to provide 90 days control by translocating inside the plant, working via ingestion and contact activity against piercing, sucking insects like chinch bugs.
SOUTHERN CHINCH BUG CONTROL IN ST. AUGUSTINE GRASS
When used according to the recommendations below, one application of Meridian 25WG (17 oz/A) or Meridian 0.33G (80 lbs/A) will provide southern chinch bug control for 90 days from the date of application. Follow the following recommendations for at least 90% control of southern chinch bug for 90 days.

• Apply preventatively prior to the typical onset of southern chinch bug pressure in your area
• Southern FL (south of I-4) – apply April 15 to May 15 • Northern FL (north of I-4) – apply May 1 to June 1 • Georgia, South Carolina – apply May 15 to June 15 • Apply 17 oz/acre Meridian 25WG in 80 to 160 gallons water per acre. • Allow spray to dry and irrigate with at least 0.1” within 24 hours and prior to mowing. • It is not recommended to include a surfactant with this application. • Alternatively, apply Meridian 0.33G at 80 lbs per acre through a properly calibrated broadcast spreader. Irrigate with at least 0.1” within 24 hours. • If southern chinch bug damage is evident at the time of application, apply the recommended rate of a bifenthrin product along with Meridian for faster knockdown of existing populations. • Do not apply more than 0.266 lbs thiamethoxam per acre per year (equivalent to 17 oz/acre Meridian 25WG or 80 lbs/acre Meridian 0.33G)
