Statutes pertaining to radioactive materials transportation: Radiation Control Law [Missouri Revised Statutes sections 192.400 et seq.] Environmental Control [Missouri Revised Statutes section 260.392-260.399] (transport fee)

Emergency Response Plan: Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan Escorts: Per policy, required for all highway shipments of spent fuel, high-level radioactive waste, transuranic waste, and HRCQ material. Fees/Permits: Spent fuel, HLW, TRU waste, and HRCQ: Truck : $1,800 per truck for each shipment, with a surcharge of $25 per mile for every mile over 200 miles traveled for every truck shipment. Rail : $1,300 for the first cask and $125 for each additional cask. Fee does not apply to shipments conducted by state-funded institutions of higher education. LLW: $125 per truck or train. [HB 683, Sections 260.392 to 260.399] Inspections: Per policy, required for all shipments of spent fuel, high-level radioactive waste, transuranic waste, and HRCQ material at a location agreeable to the highway patrol escort and the Missouri DHSS.
