Acelepryn Xtra is labeled for the control of white grubs, billbugs, black turfgrass ataenius, cutworms, annual bluegrass weevil, ants, and other nuisance pests in turfgrass.
If you suspect damage from or have a history of Annual Bluegrass Weevil, insecticide applications are based on insect development and will vary due to weather conditions and insect development. The initial applications for the control of Annual Bluegrass Weevil are based on the monitoring for adults, growing degree days and plant phenology. For all applications, visit WeevilTrakPlus.com for proper timing. For protection against snow mold, Instrata fungicide should be applied prior to snow cover. Primo Maxx or Trimmit® 2SC Plant Growth Regulator (PGRs) can be added at label rates or tank mixed to reduce clippings and improve stress tolerance. Any use should be initiated prior to environmental stress. Growing degree days (GDD) can be useful to time re-application of plant growth regulators such as Primo Maxx. A base temperature of 0C is typically used for cool-season grasses. Growing degree day thresholds vary by grass species, management intensity, and local climatic conditions, so refer to local research for the best recommendation for your area. For greens applications, a water carrier volume of 2.0 gallons per 1,000 ft² is recommended. Use a flat fan/air induction nozzle that provides thorough plant coverage. If the target is Fairy Ring, fungicide applications should be followed by at least 0.1” irrigation. For all other applications, irrigation can be delayed until the end of day. Turfgrass Parasitic Nematodes: Nematodes can be a serious pest of golf course putting greens. To accurately diagnose nematode populations and their distribution, submit 15-20 1” diameter soil cores taken in a zig-zag pattern on the green to a qualified laboratory for a nematode assay. To manage nematode activity, a programmatic approach with Divanem ® nematicide and Trefinti nematicide/fungicide applied every 21 to 28 days is recommended, up to 6 applications. For optimum results, apply with adequate water and include a soil wetting agent. Apply 0.25” of irrigation immediately after application. See label for specific instructions.
