Pythium Root Rot Organisms causing Pythium root rot on cool-season greens become active earlier than previously thought, when average 2” soil temperatures reach 60ºF for three consecutive days. For warm-season putting greens, initiate applications in late-summer or early fall when soil temperatures drop below 80°F for three consecutive days. These applications should be watered-in with 0.125” of irrigation.
