Fairy Ring Application timing for fairy ring begins in the spring when soil temperatures taken at 11:00 am at a 2” depth averages 55ºF on cool-season turf and 65-70ºF on warm-season turf for five consecutive days. These applications should be watered-in with 0.125” to move fungicide down to where the fungi are active. PRO TIP : Consider adding wetting agents to your fairy ring program to address soil hydrophobicity and enhance fungicide movement deeper into the soil profile. Always most effective to have the wetting agent applied a week prior to soil-applied fungicides if possible.

PRO TIP : TSoil pH above 6.5 can enhance take- all patch symptoms. Use acidifying nitrogen sources like ammonium sulfate to reduce high pH soils. Also, applying manganese sulfate at 6 lbs/A as a soil spray can also reduce take-all patch symptoms.
