Franklin Building Supply - September 2022

UNDER CONSTRUCTION For Caldwell Truss Plant

After months of planning and persevering through the arduous task of design, review, and permitting, we are finally under construction for the new Caldwell Truss plant! This is an exciting development toward realizing our goal of doubling our truss manufacturing capacity by early next year. It’s difficult to see from Cleveland Boulevard, but the new plant is situated directly behind our Caldwell yard on a 12-acre parcel of land. In the next couple of months, a steel building will start to take shape as it gets erected. In fact, if all goes according to schedule (stay positive!), we will be moved in and operational by April 2023. For over 20 years, the Boise Truss plant has operated in the same location within our Boise Campus

with the same equipment. The new building will be just under 40,000 square feet with the option to add on an additional 15,000 square feet … and a much larger yard to store lumber and finished jobs. We are also investing in new and more state-of-the- art equipment to replace the outdated and tired equipment we have today. This will result in a much more efficient and safer operation. This is one of Franklin’s single largest investments in our history going toward our 2026 vison elements of Safe, Guide, Wow, and Strive — and it will position us for growth for many years to come. Peterson Brothers Construction (out of Twin Falls) is the general contractor. A big high-five to their team and all of you who have been — and will continue to be — part of this project.

HIGH-FIVE WINNERS

William Linter, for being a problem-solver and the solution. I would also like to thank Mitch Thompson for being willing to come in and assist William and learn this portion of the equipment maintenance

From: Dana Smith, DI To: Brian Tucker, DI

We all wanted to send a well-deserved HIGH-FIVE to Brian Tucker. Brian often exhibits the “Guide” part of making building easy. He jumps right in to help solve any problem. He is always hard at work but never turns any of us down when we need some handyman expertise, help locating something in the warehouse, have technical questions, need safety tips, or just some needed “manpower” in or around Design Innovations. He treats all of our team with the same kind and helpful attitude he has for our “outside” customers.

From: Richard Rodriguez, Boise Cabinet To: Guiseppi Imbriani, Boise Cabinet

I would like to take the time to recognize Guiseppi Imbriani of the cabinet department. Guiseppi (we call him Joey) has been with our department since August of 2020. He started in the door boring area of our department and did incredibly well and grasped the role quickly. Since then, he has become our Edgebander operator, and that role is a one-man show. His current position is one that takes a ton of responsibility and strong work ethic, as it is one that touches almost every part that runs through our shop and, of course, has deadlines to get it done. On top of having a good-sized workload daily, he is also tasked with keeping the maintenance up on the machine and recently worked with the tech we have visit us to help get the machine dialed in. When Joey has downtime, or might be needed in another area, he is always willing to lend a hand and with a great attitude. We are very fortunate to have Joey as part of our department and part of our team and appreciate all his efforts and willingness to help us all. So, a big high-five to Guiseppi (Joey) Imbriani of the cabinet department.

From: Jeff Keeney, Caldwell To: Caldwell Yard, Caldwell

The Caldwell Yard implemented a policy for forklift operators to sound long horn blasts for an extreme caution situation, for example, caring long joists. I was in the yard today and witnessed it personally. It was impressive to see so many people work in unison to ensure a job is done safely. Great work John, Lane, and team!

From: Dale Hansen, Boise Cabinet To: William Linter, Boise Cabinet

I would like to give William Linter, one of our project managers for the cabinet shop, a high-five. William Linter was the shop foreman for quite some time and has vital knowledge of the equipment workings within the shop. We had bearings go out that are needed to run our large CNC. William was involved the last time these went out. He stepped up and came in at 3 a.m. to replace the bearings and limit our downtime as well as cost for having an outside vendor come in to repair. Thank you,

From: Karri Seiber, McCall To: Dana Parker, McCall

I witnessed Dana Parker going the extra mile for a customer — when our deliveries are full, he took extra effort to ensure the customer got his product when he needs it! High-five, Dana!
