Rentokil Initial
The experts in pest control RENTOKIL PEST CONTROL is the world’s leading commercial pest control company. Across the world, customers rely on Rentokil to get the job done, quickly and eectively – today the business operates in over 65 countries fromAmerica to Australia, from Singapore to South Africa. Customers range from the largest multi- nationals to local restaurants and individual home owners, and demand for Rentokil’s professional pest control services continues to grow with revenues increasing by 25.9% in 2016 to £989m. Rentokil dates back to 1925 when the magnicent hammer-beam wooden roof of Westminster Hall at the Houses of Parliament was under threat by deathwatch beetle. Rentokil’s founder, Professor Harold Maxwell-Lefroy, created a new uid that successfully controlled the infestation and the rest is history. Today, that same commitment to technical expertise and innovation remain at the heart of the company. Technical expertise shared across markets Across the world Rentokil combats dangers to public health from pests, such as mosquitoes and rodents, with an unrivalled depth of expertise. In 2016, Rentokil was proud to be awarded a contract by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help control the species of mosquito that could potentially carry the Zika virus across the USA and its protectorates. Rentokil also successfully delivered a full range of pest control services, including mosquito control, to the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the extensive risk management approach undertaken by the Rio 2016 Organising Committee. In Central and Latin America and across the Caribbean, Rentokil is also undertaking monitoring and control services to support its customers against the potential threat of Zika; and, in Asia, it has over 30 years’ experience helping customers combat the signicant threat of dengue fever. Digital leadership and web expertise The world is becoming increasingly focused on digital applications and Rentokil is leading the global pest control industry in the commercialisation of the “internet of things” through connected devices. It utilises digital expertise at every stage of the customer journey, from web searching through to e-billing. In addition, over the last three years, Rentokil has been developing, testing and deploying a range of remote monitoring sensors and connected devices. PestConnect, a remote monitoring system for rodent control, is the world’s smartest mouse trap. Now used in over 1,200 customer premises across 12 countries, PestConnect has sent Rentokil’s online command centre over 25 million individual
messages relating to the presence of rodent activity and service productivity. The system also guides technicians to the exact unit that has signalled rodent activity – particularly useful on sites with hundreds of devices, such as a food production plant. Around the world, Rentokil’s web platform handles over 10 million visits per annum, with a new website launching every three weeks in 2016. In addition, the myRentokil online customer portal has been developed and rolled out to over 60,000 customers in 20 countries. Rentokil is a hard-working, practical, down-to- earth place to work; its people are highly trained and rightly known as “the experts in pest control”. It has come a long way from Professor Harold Maxwell-Lefroy’s rst treatment of Westminster Hall to become the business it is today – the world’s leading commercial pest control company, protecting people and enhancing lives in over 65 countries. www.rentokil.com
