SERCO INTERNATIONAL FIRE TRAINING CENTRE (IFTC) in Teesside, a world-leading aviation re training centre, is delighted to have won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.

Serco’s IFTC oers life-saving training to 10,000 delegates from around the world each year, ranging from major customers such as NATO, the United Nations, France and Germany to smaller nations such as Romania and Tahiti. Rupert Soames, Serco Group Chief Executive, said: “This is a huge honour for Serco. We are immensely proud of the team at the IFTC and their achievements in training reghters. The centre has superb training facilities and it enjoys an excellent reputation with its customers for its professionalism. This award also recognises the commitment and dedication of the team.” The IFTC’s success in exporting re training services also signicantly boosts the economy of the North East. The centre not only employs 57 people, with a further 100 associate instructors, but it brings thousands of trainees to the region every year, boosting the local economy.
