investments During FY25 we undertook major network infrastructure works to upgrade the capacity of our assets with the aim of better protection from increasingly severe weather events and mitigating bushfire risk. These included:

Works covering a vast geographical area spanning three shires were completed using live line insulated glove and barrier techniques to minimise power interruptions. About 200 poles were replaced, as well as other upgrades. In Bullfinch approximately 220 poles were replaced, with 23km of high-voltage powerlines installed and other network infrastructure including crossarms, insulators and transformers upgraded. Equipment including switches and fuses to enable load transfer on the network and help reduce the duration of unplanned outages for the community were also upgraded. $1.5 million to replace aging equipment including transformers, crossarms and reclosers was conducted with and 78 new poles, new insulators and 15km of conductor installed to improve capacity in Kentdale. $1.2 million in Merredin for the replacement of approximately 60 poles and 6.5km of conductor, upgrading streetlights and insulators and undertaking other essential maintenance. $2 million in West Coolup for the replacement of 141 poles, more than 23km of high-voltage powerlines installed and upgrades to transformers, crossarms, insulators and reclosers. $3 million in Nannup and surrounds for replacing 260 poles and 25km of conductor. Most of the work was performed on the main powerline between Nannup and Yornup. $1.4 million for replacement of 55 poles and more than 2km of overhead powerlines, upgraded insulators, installation of new LED streetlights and other essential maintenance. $4 million to improve long-term reliability in the area including replacing more than 288 poles and 35km of power lines. $1.4 million for the replacement of 50 poles and 5km of overhead powerlines, upgraded insulators and new LED streetlights installed around the Tammin townsite.
