Our stories Mid West reliability works The Mid West region is a particularly unique location within the SWIS, with diverse geographic, weather and network conditions.
A targeted maintenance program including insulator and pole replacements, helicopter siliconing and washing, upgrades to overhead powerlines, and local substation work has seen a significant improvement in reliability, including in the regional centres of Kalbarri, Northampton, Dongara and Lancelin.
Parts of the City of Greater Geraldton and the shires of Northampton, Gingin, and Irwin have experienced elevated interruptions in recent years, and we’ve been working hard to address this through increased network maintenance.
