Employee Engagement Survey Western Power measures employee engagement on an annual basis, to understand what we do well and highlight areas for continual improvement. In 2025 we included embedded contractors for the first time, leading to a record participation rate of 85% with more than 3000 employees choosing to have their say. We achieved an overall engagement score of 69%. The senior leadership team work closely with this feedback to identify what’s driving engagement at an organisational and local level and translate these insights to actions. Streamlining our systems Based on previous feedback from our employees, several major projects were deployed in this financial year to streamline the experience of working at Western Power for our people. Project Phoenix • Replacing our current training platform with the new integrated system to simplify and streamline the training and authorisation management processes. The Grid • Migrating our current intranet to SharePoint modern to improve useability, functionality and governance.
Celebrating Excellence: LiveWires Awards At Western Power, our people are driving our success. The bi-annual LiveWires Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of employees and teams. This year’s ceremony reflected the talent, innovation and dedication across our organisations. As CEO Sam Barbaro shared:
With more than 440 nominations and 6 award winners selected, employees were recognised for their positive impact across all areas of the business. Each story shared during the event highlighted individual and team excellence, and the strengths in Western Power’s culture. It was a fantastic event and I was thrilled to be part of the recognition of all the nominees’ incredible dedication to our values. Each award category was highly competitive, truly showcasing the exceptional talent and commitment of our people.
