WP Annual Report SEP25

Supporting employees across all life stages Western Power offers flexible working arrangements, salary packaging options, and access to employee benefits and discounted products and services through our employee benefits program. Two new programs were offered to employees over the past year, to support the intersection between work and life. Western Power’s school holiday program provides onsite, subsidised holiday workshops for kids, to support working parents during school breaks. These spots sold out quickly, with over 200 placements across multiple locations. For the Changing Gears program pilot we worked with 40 of our employees to better understand the information, support and opportunities needed as they prepare for retirement. All members of our second pilot stated they would recommend our program to other employees. Highlights Continuing to build a talented workforce This year we worked hard to further build our talent base at Western Power through targeted recruitment and retention strategies. Overall, Western Power’s turnover has reduced (8% to 7.1%) and new employees continue to highlight the strong onboarding program and benefits.

A refreshed Entry Level Programs Strategy, aligned with Western Power’s Workforce Plan and DEI targets, aims to build sustainable talent pipelines and address technical and regional workforce gaps. The strategy focuses on increasing intake across apprenticeships, graduate and traineeship programs, improving onboarding and engagement to boost retention, and expanding access to underrepresented cohorts such as women in STEM , First Nations people and youth . We play a strong role in the WA community, providing training and job opportunities for apprentices, graduates and vacation students. During this FY, we hired 36 graduates and hosted 15 paid vacation students , 30 Work Integrated Learning students and 5 trainees . In addition, we had 23 apprentices commence in February 2025.

A total of 1,276 roles were filled in the financial year, with 59.1% being internal hires, demonstrating career progression opportunities and our commitment to retaining experienced employees. The Regional Attraction Strategy has driven greater candidate interest and increased consideration for relocation to regional areas.
