Our stories Diversity, Equity

& Inclusion Western Power has continued to embed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) as a business imperative, with an increased focus on sustainable change. We’re focussed on attracting and retaining talent for the future, that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. We engage in meaningful partnerships and events to secure our position as a trusted partner in the community. Western Power has maintained or increased our results against all six categories in the Public Sector Commission Workforce Diversification and Inclusion metrics. We remain committed to providing a safe inclusive environment and support equitable employment opportunities for all ages and genders, the LGBTIQA+ community, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Driving Reconciliation A key milestone was the refresh of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025-2028, developed in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and our own First Nations employees. We’re proud to have achieved a 10% increase in First Nations employment and improved retention. Western Power held its inaugural First Nations Gathering, bringing together over half of First Nations employees with senior leaders and allies, for a day of cultural sharing, connection and formal collaboration on the RAP.
