Bushfire Volunteers Grants Program Each year, Western Power provides $45,000 in grants to volunteer bushfire brigades within the Western Power network service area to support firefighting capabilities and brigade operations. This program is a part of our commitment to making a positive difference to local communities by supporting and recognising the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to protect the community The funding is used to purchase support equipment such as tablets, small generators, shade structures and equipment bags, supporting brigades to safely and effectively carry out their firefighting activities. In FY25, funding was allocated to 43 volunteer bushfire brigades in 27 local government areas. We collaborate with the Bushfire Volunteers Association to administer these grants each year. Other major engagements conducted in the FY25 financial year are outlined on the opposite page.
The support that Western Power has provided to our members over the years has been invaluable. This has enabled many brigades to procure critical equipment and services and reduce the amount of time our already busy volunteers have to spend fundraising.
