TRUST (I Peter 5:7) Are you dreading some dire trouble That tomorrow holds for you? Rest in Him, and trust God fully; Futures can't belong to you. You repeat, “ The Lord's my Shepherd"; Is He yours? Do you believe That the circumstance He sees best, He will cause you to receive? It must grieve Him that we limit His vast power so tragically, When we have this priceless sonship, And His A LL is ours, so free. We CAN 'T worry, if we trust Him; We can never, anxious be. All is ours! The life abundant Is for you; and is for me.

you acknowledge this debt openly or not, your conscience tells you it is there. How can you get out of debt; the debt of sin? Money won’t do it. A determination to “ try to do better” is com mendable, but it won’t take care of the past. Doing the best you can won’t do it, for it isn’t good enough by far. God demands perfection. No, you will just have to recog nize, like the two debtors in Jesus’ story, that you have “nothing with which to pay,” and throw yourself at the feet and on the mercy of God you r.creditor. And what will He do? Like the creditor in the story, He will frank ly (i.e. freely) forgive you. How can a righteous God do this? W ill He just overlook your sin? No, He couldn’t do that. God does better than that; He pays the debt Him self. In fact God, in the person of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, has already paid the debt. He paid the debt for you and me on the cross of Calvary. “ God com- mendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” He died in your place. If you are honestly sick of your sin, and want to be freed from its penalty and power, then (1) put your trust now in Jesus Christ as your Saviour, your sin-bearer, your redeemer, and (2) crown Him as the King, the Lord, the director of your life. God will charge all of your debt to His inexhaustible account, and credit His righteous ness to your account. Then you will join other Chris tians as we sing: “ I will sing of my redeemer and His wondrous love to me; On the cruel cross He suffered, from the curse to set me free; Sing, Oh! sing of my redeemer, with His blood He pur chased me; On the cross He sealed my pardon, paid the debt and made me free.” Written at request of Christian Business Men Committee, international of which he was then chairman.
