CCNE Continuous Improvement Progress Report (2018 Standards ), Standard III

Key Element III-J The curriculum and teaching-learning practices are evaluated at regularly scheduled intervals, and evaluation data are used to foster ongoing improvement. Elaboration: Faculty use data from faculty and student evaluation of teaching-learning practices to inform decisions that facilitate the achievement of student outcomes. Such evaluation activities may be formal or informal, formative or summative. The curriculum is regularly evaluated by faculty and revised as appropriate.

III-J 1. Indicate the date that the curriculum and teaching-learning practices were last reviewed, and the frequency with which they are reviewed:

Describe the outcome of those reviews:

It was determined that more time was needed in the skills labs for two fundamentals courses. After thorough review by lab faculty and the curriculum committee it was determined that one extra hour a class was needed for NUR106 and NUR207 skills labs. This would provide sufficient time to demonstrate skills, practice skills, and show competency of skills and course outcomes. It was also determined that the simulation lab in term eight (8) could be eliminated. There are still several simulation labs in the later terms allowing sufficient time to work through advanced scenarios. The 20 hours from that simulation lab in 310 from the eighth term provided 10 hours for NUR106 and 10 hours for NUR207. That will make those classes one hour longer each session.
