CCNE Correspondence

This is the follow-up report for the continuous improvement progress report (CIPR) letter asking for further information to show compliance with Key Elements III-G, III-H, and IV-G. I should have put more information in the section marked optional. I only filled in the blocks for the questions on the template and missed parts of the Key Element. Next time I will be sure to provide information to fully demonstrate the Key Elements. III-G Teaching learning practices: expose students to individuals with diverse life experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. Course outcomes, learning materials, assignments, and experiences throughout the curriculum allow students the opportunities to reach mastery of the program outcomes. Program outcomes listed below include culture, diverse patient populations, various healthcare settings, the health-illness continuum, and lifespan. PO5 Apply knowledge of healthcare policy, finance, and regulatory environments to provide safe, compassionate, ethical, and holistic care for diverse patient populations (Essential II, V). PO6 Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills in the delivery of evidence- based, patient-centered care for diverse patient populations across healthcare settings (Essential VI). PO7 Promote health and provide culturally competent and patient-centered care to individuals and diverse populations across the lifespan (Essential VII). PO9 Deliver compassionate, holistic, evidence-based, patient and population-centered care that reflects baccalaureate generalist nursing practice across the health-illness continuum, lifespan, and healthcare settings (Essential IX). Below are a few examples of teaching learning practices exposing students to individuals with diverse life experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. The ones listed for the RN-BSN track are also utilized in the BSN track.

Examples from BSN track include:

• Course Outcome 1: Discuss the concepts of cultural diversity, cultural influences on healthcare, health, and illness, and how to deliver culturally sensitive nursing care (PO6) is for NUR105 Nursing Fundamentals 1.
