In collaboration with the mentor the student will assess the needs of the facility, organization, interprofessional team, patients, or populations they are working with during the practicum as well as their own learning needs. Based on the assessment and input from the mentor the student will determine a change project that will have a positive impact on the healthcare team or patients at the practicum site and demonstrate mastery of course and program student learning outcomes. The student will implement and evaluate the project. The project is presented to their peers in the final week of the capstone course. III-I Individual student performance is evaluated by the faculty and reflects achievement of expected student outcomes. Evaluation policies and procedures for individual student performance are defined and consistently applied. The progression through the nursing program is stated in the college catalog and student handbook. Nursing students in the BSN program must earn a minimum of a ‘C-’ in all classes (NUR Core and General Education) to be eligible to progress in the program. If a student earns a grade lower than a ‘C-’ in any BSN program course the student is required to retake the course in the next rotation in which it is scheduled. If a student is unable to earn a minimum of a ‘C-’ after the second attempt, the student is withdrawn from the BSN program.
