The college nursing programs have a Curriculum Committee that meets quarterly and as needed. The Department Chair is on the Curriculum Committee and holds the position of Chair of that committee. The Curriculum Committee activities include: • Evaluate existing programs and identify need for additional offerings and revisions of existing offerings. • Study means of integrating the various course offerings, laboratory and clinical experiences and make recommendations related to the organization and implementation of learning experiences. • Study problems and make recommendations related to the utilization and evaluation of all types of instructional materials, resources, and services. • Evaluate and make recommendations for change to the curriculum. • Monitor curriculum for congruency between campuses and programs. • Make recommendations for curriculum evaluation tools. • Analyze curriculum evaluation data and make action recommendations. • Share all information related to curriculum committee discussions and decisions with faculty and program directors. Any faculty member may make a suggestion based on review of a course, student survey, book evaluations, or current research and guidance from professional development opportunities. The faculty member submits a request for change to the Curriculum Committee member or chair. At the meeting items are discussed and often sent out to full faculty meetings for discussion and input before voting. Faculty also review student input from course surveys to update curriculum and teaching- learning practices. Survey data is discussed at faculty meetings. At the time of this report there have been only a total of four responses to surveys for a total of four different courses. All comments were positive, and no changes were suggested. Faculty will continue to encourage student feedback and monitor the comments to update courses as appropriate.

Faculty observation results are utilized to provide mentoring for faculty related to the use of grading rubrics and following of best practices for teaching.
