CCNE Continuous Improvement Progress Report (2018 Standards ), Standard I
student handbook which is available on the Canvas LMS system. Faculty review the mission, goals, and expected program outcomes at faculty meetings annually.
I-A 2. Affirm that the mission statement, goals, and expected program outcomes are congruent with those of the parent institution:
Yes No
I-A 3. Have there been any changes in the mission, goals, and/or expected program outcomes since the last on-site evaluation?
Yes • Date changes were implemented: April 2023 No
If yes, include an appendix or link with the new statements of mission, goals, and expected program outcomes, and in the space below, explain how the program remains in compliance with this key element. We began our generic BSN program in 2023. A mission statement was developed for that program that is slightly different from that of the existing RN-BSN Program. The only difference is the RN-BSN mission states that the program provides a quality educational program for registered nurses to build upon their existing skills and the one for the BSN program reads that the Program provides a quality educational program for all students. The statements are
identical except for that one difference in who it speaks to. See Appendix A, page 58, Mission, Goals, Program Outcomes
Optional : Key Element I-A
Is there any other information that the program would like to provide related to this key element?
The mission, goals, and program outcomes are reviewed annually at faculty meetings and advisory committee meetings. Key Element I-A is listed on the Monthly Calendar for Program Effectiveness BSN in May. See Appendix B page 61- Monthly Calendar for Program Effectiveness BSN
Key Element I-B The mission, goals, and expected program outcomes are consistent with relevant professional nursing standards and guidelines for the preparation of nursing professionals. Elaboration: The program identifies the professional nursing standards and guidelines it uses. CCNE requires, as appropriate, the following professional nursing standards and guidelines: • The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice [American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), 2008]; • The Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing (AACN, 2011); • The Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice (AACN, 2006); and • Criteria for Evaluation of Nurse Practitioner Programs [National Task Force on Quality Nurse Practitioner Education (NTF), 2016].
