CCNE Continuous Improvement Progress Report (2018 Standards ), Standard III

The campus at the time of the site visit was housed in two separate buildings. The school now leases more space in the main building at 8338 Alderwood Road, Portland, Oregon. The advantage of having all students and staff in one location is that we can provide better support for students. All students can easily access financial aid from the same building they are taking classes in. We also opened a new simulation lab in the additional space. Safety was a priority in making the decision to have the campus under one roof. We now regulate entrance into the building. The parking lot is patrolled by a security officer. Faculty can assist one another in labs as needed. There is currently 17,897 square feet of space utilized including office space, 8 classrooms, 4 nursing skills laboratories, 4 simulation learning rooms, faculty, and staff offices, a library with two private meeting rooms staff and student break rooms, and a student lounge.

If deficiencies have been identified for any program, explain the reason(s) these resources have not been provided, and the plan to provide needed resources if one exists.

The facilities and resources follow-up visit by the CCNE site visitor took place on April 30, 2024, there were no deficiencies identified as a result of this visit.

II-B 2. Describe how clinical sites for the program(s) under review in this CIPR are sufficient to achieve the mission, goals, and expected outcomes:

Clinical sites utilized by the previous ADN program are available for the BSN program, additional sites were added to ensure community, public health, mental health, hospice, and palliative care experiences. Clinical sites provide opportunities across the four spheres of care and are sufficient to provide experiences for learning and demonstrating competency in all course outcomes.

If deficiencies have been identified for any program, explain the reason(s) these resources have not been provided, and the plan to provide needed resources if one exists.

Prior to adding the generic BSN program there were no specific hospice, palliative care, and less community and public health opportunities. Key Element II-B is reviewed in February on the Monthly Callendar for Program Effectiveness BSN.

II-B 3. Have there been any changes in the review process to evaluate the adequacy of the program’s physical resources and clinical sites since the last on-site evaluation?

Yes No

If yes, describe the change in the process and the outcomes.

A Nursing Faculty Clinical survey was prepared and sent to clinical faculty March 11, 2024, to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the clinical site for supporting students and meeting course outcomes. Responses are being evaluated.

The clinical coordinator, nursing department chair, and college president reviewed the curriculum, competencies, and four spheres of care to determine additional clinical opportunities needed for the new generic BSN program.

Indicate the date that each program was last evaluated for adequacy of physical resources and clinical sites, and the frequency with each program is evaluated.
