Kindergarten Kindergarten students develop critical thinking skills and learn to express their insights in new ways as they experience what it means to be part of a faith community. Students deepen their understanding of themselves as learners and gain the knowledge and skills that they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Our kindergarten teachers design an age-appropriate, play-based curriculum that creates an enriching experience and nurturing environment for our young learners. Building a strong foundation in math, literacy, science, religion, and social justice sets our students up for success in our elementary school and beyond. Social-emotional learning curriculum fosters an understanding of self-regulation and instills an early love of learning.
and comprehension. Students embrace the
foundational skills necessary for reading and writing: oral language, phonemic awareness, phonemic segmentation, and the sound/symbol relations of alphabetic principles.
Elementary School In Elementary School, we foster a culture of growth mindset, bolstering student’s natural curiosity and perseverance. We guide students towards self-advocacy, personal responsibility, and meaningful engagement with our community. Our teachers utilize curriculum and instructional approaches that maximize student potential for all learners and are considered best practice in education. Students are taught to be socially and spiritually articulate and learn to communicate effectively. Students enjoy visits to our Innovation Center and responsible technology use is woven into our academic programming through coding, robotics, and use of our 3D printers. Group projects are integrated with independent work to grow students’ knowledge of research, writing, public speaking, executive functioning, and collaboration. Building these skill sets in the 1st through 5th grades sets the foundation for our challenging Middle School program and are designed with the intention to cultivate a love of learning from a young age.
“ At ASB, we are grateful for an extremely supportive environment where our children feel comfortable, known, and are able to try new things. It's been so rewarding to watch them grow into creative and confident
young thinkers. ” –Jenni, Current Parent

“ I’ve always appreciated the education I received at ASB. When I became a parent, I truly understood the blessing it was to go to ASB, how it influenced who I am, and how much I wanted a similar experience for my own kids. I am so grateful my kids are building a strong academic foundation and benefiting from a community with a commitment to service, just like I did. ” –Ilaria, Alumna and Current Parent
Supporting Our Students We have a long history of serving diversified learners, and are well-versed in creating an educational experience that is tailored for each individual student’s academic success. ASB has full-time specialists who provide students with additional support in academics, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills. These specialists, in addition to our School Leadership Team and full-time School Counselor, compose our Student Success Team. This group of capable, well-trained staff bring expertise and experience in working with a range of student needs, including students who benefit from academic enrichment, as well as students who need academic, emotional, or behavioral support. In Kindergarten through fifth grade, our full-time learning specialist works with individuals and small groups of students to provide meaningful support in reading, spelling, and writing. Our Reinventing Achievement & Development Program (RAD) serves middle school students who benefit from additional guidance in math, language arts, and self-regulation skills to maximize their academic success. Through this program, students also receive support in core executive functioning skills, such as organization, goal-directed persistence, and self-advocacy.
A Holistic Education Across all grade levels, ASB students develop their critical thinking and creative skills through our vibrant arts programs. Our students explore the visual arts through drawing, painting, sculpting, collage, and using our 3D printers. Our drama classes allow students to grow as speakers and performers as they challenge themselves artistically. While exploring music, ASB students learn the elements of music, develop an understanding of musical vocabulary, and make connections to other arts. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate in Band, Choir, and Theatre Ensemble based on grade level. These extracurricular programs allow students to collaborate with their peers and foster confidence through practice and public performances.
