paintings and Architectural Rendering -- being commissioned to create house portraits and collaborating with the city. “A fusion of realism and impressionism” is Heather’s description of her artistic style, detailing in her aforementioned Artist Biography: “I attempt to create paintings that show a strong sense of light, vivid colour, fluid brushwork and deep emotional content. I strive to evoke in my viewers the same emotions that compelled me to paint the subject.” In addition to focusing on landscape and figurative pieces, Heather has explored collage techniques. She has contributed to international exchanges between fellow artists, resulting in altered art books. This
mixed media journey forges various perspectives and personal touches before returning to the artist with whom this process began. Asked what excites Heather about her craft, she replies, “Seeing old friends, students and exhibiting my latest works.” Moreover, she highlights her delight to have recently participated in the debut of the Elgin County Studio Tour on September 28th and 29th. Art and Soul Café in Port Stanley and ‘gathered’ in Sparta both offer Heather’s purchasable works.
